About Me

Hey friend,.. I'm Kaylee, I’m a wife to Jeremy, mom to three boys, children’s ministry director, writer, creator, and a Louisiana girl now raising my family outside Houston.

I thrive in organized chaos, and yes... I've been known to misplace my keys before I even get out of the car. :)

I love a good system, a color coded calendar, pretty notebooks, baseball bleachers, ministry people, and knowing exactly what the plan is.

Which is mildly inconvenient when God decides the plan is going to change.

I’ve spent years serving and leading in children’s ministry, and somewhere along the way I’ve learned that faith rarely looks as neat in real life as it does written on paper.

Most days, it looks like ordinary obedience, loving people, raising boys, leading teams, asking hard questions, laughing when I probably should, standing firm when it matters, and trusting God with what I cannot control.

I don’t have a formula for doing life perfectly.

I do know the One who has been faithful through every part of mine.

The Story I Didn't Plan

I certainly didn’t plan this part.

What began in 2025 as a medical interruption became a season that changed far more than my calendar.

There were surgeries, recoveries, unexpected appointments, questions, fear, people God placed in exactly the right places, moments I still cannot explain apart from Him, and eventually grief I never saw coming.

For a woman who genuinely appreciates a plan, God apparently had other ideas.

But He also had purpose.

He slowed me down enough to show me what had been running on empty, what mattered, what needed rebuilding, and what He had been preparing in me long before I knew I would need it.

I began paying closer attention.

To His timing.

To Scripture.

To people.

To the stories I didn’t want to forget.

And to the things He had already put in my hands ...ministry, leadership, writing, creating, motherhood, and a voice I’m learning not to apologize for when He asks me to use it.

Grace & Grit.life grew from there.

Not because I came out of a hard season with all the answers.

Because I came out of it more certain of the One who does!

Why Grace & Grit.Life

This space is for anyone juggling a lot and trying to do it with heart. The parents, leaders, and everyday believers showing up, doing their best, and trusting God with the rest!

It's about learning to:

  • Pray before every step and trust God with what's next.
  • Stand firm when life feels shaky & truth feels unpopular
  • Serve with purpose & joy, even when no one sees.
  • Teach through the everyday moments, at home, church, or in the carpool line
  • Lead with humility & grace and especially when it's heavy
  • Share what God is still writing, the messy middle and the miracle moments.
  • Praise through every season, because worship isn't just a song... it's a response

Because real life the beautiful, the busy, and the in between...takes both Grace and Grit..

What I Believe

I grew up in a small Baptist church in Louisiana, where faith was simple, family was everything, and the phrase "Dinner on the grounds" meant the church was eating after service!! That's where I learned that following Jesus isn't about perfection; it's about relationship.

Now, living just outside Houston, that same faith has grown deeper roots.

Here's what I hold close:

  • I am a sinner saved by grace. Nothing I've done could earn it, Jesus paid it all!
  • God sent his Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again.. defeating death so we could have eternal life.
  • God's Word is alive and steady. It still speaks in every season.
  • Jesus is the center. He's not a piece of life... He IS life!
  • The Holy Spirit leads and comforts and strengthens us daily. He's the calm in every kind of storm
  • Faith isn't flawless.. it's faithful. God doesn't expect perfect, just present.
  • Grace and accountability belong together. One grounds you; the other grows you.

I believe we are called to serve with joy, lead with humility, walk in obedience, love people well, and tell the truth about what God has done.

THE story may be ours to tell, the glory is always HIS!
