Once I stopped trying to make sense of WHY and started trusting WHO, I realized this was exactly where I was meant to be.

Children's Ministry in Real Life

Children's ministry is a world all its own.. Loud, joyful, unpredictable, and holy all at once. It's where truth is planted early, faith starts to take root, and laughter fills the halls faster than you can pass out the crayons.

This isn't childcare.. it's discipleship. It's early mornings, sticky fingers, glitter on everything, and quiet moments where God reminds you why you said yes in the first place.

It's the joy of hearing a child pray out loud for the first time. It's the wide eyed wonder when a Bible story finally clicks. It's the hugs, the giggles, the "Why did God..." questions, and the tiny moments that make you realize just how much kids really get it.

Every week, I see the Gospel come alive, in laughter, in learning, in faith that's beautifully simple and fiercely strong. Because in the middle of crafts, lessons, and organized chaos... God shows up! And when He does, hearts, big and small are changed!

This is the space where I've seen God move the most. In the wonder of a child learning to pray, in the way Scripture sticks when it's sung, and in the joy that fills a room when kids realize Jesus loves them.

It's a place where grace meets growth.. and where a little grit keeps things running when the glitter explodes. Because here, faith isn't quiet... it's colorful, creative, and full of life.

My Calling & Why I Love It

I didn't set out to work in children's ministry, God just kept placing me right in the middle of it And the funny thing? Once I stopped trying to make sense of why and started trusting Who, I realized this was exactly where I was meant to be!

Over the years, I've planned lessons, built teams, led VBS, even one through a hurricane (Not recommended), balanced schedules, bandaged skinned knees, crawled on the floor looking for a piece of a child's tooth before closing rally of VBS, and laughed through the kind of chaos only ministry can bring. And through every season, the easy ones, the exhausting ones, and the unexpected ones, God has used it all to teach me something deeper about His grace.

I love children's ministry because it's real. You can't fake it with kids, they'll call it like they see it!! It's the best!!  They ask honest questions, pray with open hearts, and worship without hesitation. They remind me what faith looks like when it's simple and pure and alive.

Maybe that's why I love it so much, because every time I teach them something about Jesus, He ends up teaching me something too!!

What I 've Learned Along the Way
